Potomac Hills Presbyterian Church, PCA. By Grace Alone, Through Faith Alone, In Christ Alone

Deacons

Deacon (Greek diakonos,"servant")

The office of deacon is one of service both to the physical and spiritual needs of the people. The office of deacon is set forth in the Bible. The office is one of sympathy and service, after the example of Jesus; it expresses also the communion of saints, especially in their helping one another in time of need.

Deacons minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who are in distress. They develop the grace of liberality in Potomac Hills Presbyterian Church members, devise effective methods of collecting the gifts, and distribute those gifts. They care for and repair the property of Potomac Hills Presbyterian Church.

The Deacons are under the authority of Session. They are organized as a Board and select a chairman and a secretary.
